2020

In the face of unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Global Brazilian Student Tech Conference 2020 emerged as a testament to adaptability and the power of technology to unite individuals across borders. As the creator of its distinctive branding, I was entrusted with visually encapsulating the spirit of international collaboration, innovation, and connectivity that defined the event.

The Concept: The branding concept for the conference was rooted in the idea of merging Brazil's vibrant cultural essence with the cutting-edge world of technology. By blending iconic Brazilian motifs and tech-inspired elements, the branding aimed to portray the conference as a dynamic intersection where tradition and innovation converge.

Visual Identity:
  1. Logo: The heart of the branding was the conference logo, which seamlessly integrated elements like circuit lines and binary code with Brazil's iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, creating a harmonious fusion of the technological and the cultural.
  2. Color Palette: Vibrant and contrasting colors were chosen to mirror Brazil's diversity and energy. Deep blues and greens evoked technology, while warm oranges and yellows invoked the sun-soaked spirit of Brazil.
  3. Typography: A contemporary and clean typeface conveyed the conference's modern outlook, while subtle embellishments in certain characters echoed the artistic intricacies often associated with Brazilian culture.
  4. Visual Elements: Imagery of circuit patterns intertwined with lush rainforest landscapes, digital interfaces blending with samba rhythms, and pixelated versions of iconic Brazilian landmarks all came together to reinforce the branding's core message.

Adaptation in a Changing Landscape: Originally intended to take place in Silicon Valley, the conference quickly transitioned to a virtual format due to the global pandemic. The challenge was to ensure that the branding remained impactful in a digital space, while also conveying the shift from a physical event to a global online gathering.

Online Experience: The branding's adaptability was showcased through the conference's digital platforms. The website design maintained the visual language of the branding, while interactive elements encouraged engagement among attendees. Social media graphics, virtual backgrounds, and animated elements ensured consistent branding across various online channels.

Impact: By encapsulating the conference's essence in its branding, I played a pivotal role in conveying the event's purpose: to foster connections among Brazilian students worldwide who shared a passion for technology. The branding not only represented the convergence of cultures and ideas but also served as a reminder that despite physical distances, technology could bridge gaps and create a global community.
